Lachiguiri Zapotec Translation: 2009

The Translation Project for Santiago Lachiguiri Oaxaca

In the first five years of the project Sheri worked with several people to learn the grammar of this language. Then she worked with Israel Lopez Dordelly to develop a Spanish-Zapotec dictionary and presented this at a fiesta for the whole village. Other works in this language are medical pamphlets, Bible stories, the Book of Luke along with many songs translated from Spanish and the Book of psalms. Several who attended a special music workshop have included their own songs with Zapotec words.
