Miracle for Pastor Israel

Spoke with Pastor Israel regarding his health problem with diabetes. After going through another series of medical test he had an appointment with his hospital doctor. This was the doctor who wanted to start him on Insulin.
"Israel, what have you been doing," the doctor asked him. "I don't know what to think"

All during the time Israel was in the hospital his sugar registered extremely high, he was quite weak and his heart seemed to be failing. He had stayed in the hospital about two weeks from Dec. 29th.

"Your sugar is down to normal, only 110." This is was the lowest he has been since he was first diagnosed 15 years ago when his was first put on pills.

Israel told him he was feeling good now because friends in the United States had been praying for his complete healing. Also all the local churches in Lachiguiri had been fasting for him.

The doctor then decided he would not put him on Insulin at this time but to remain on the pills. He is to check his sugar daily and start taking Blood Pressure medicine.

We feel he needs to do as the doctor says, also watch his diet. No more tortillas with rice and beans. He needs proteins and vegetables and to exercise more.

He wants to be able to finish the editing of the Book of Luke for the dubbing of the Jesus Movie in their dialect.

Diabetic problem in Lachiguiri

There are lots of diabetics in our village but so far they are all only on pills like Israel has been. The government supplies those for the people. The clinic can only check their sugar once every two months. Not good for any of them. So sad.

We were able to send down enough funds to cover Israel's hospital bill and for the test he had this week. Praise God.

Thank each of you who have helped with this emergancy!!

Urgent Prayer request for Pastor Israel Lopez

Just finished talking to our Israel Lopez in Lachiguiri. Hadn't been able to reach him for some time. He told me that he had returned just yesterday from the hospital in Salina Cruz. Apparently he had been there since the 29th of December. He is a diabetic and his heart was hurting and his sugar out of sight. They informed him he needs to go on insulin. He has been on pills for this for over 15 years. The doctor has increased him to the maximum over the years. He feels that he will die shortly without insulin. With insulin he should have more years to complete his work for God that he loves so much.

He says it is difficult for him to eat anything. I encouraged him to eat very small meals several times a day. I prayed for him and let him know I would write you-all to pray for him.
